In a recent update from Slipknot, the band’s turntablist, Sid Wilson, is currently recovering from burns sustained in an accident. The band took to Instagram to share the news, stating that Wilson “was in an accident today and sustained burns across his body.” Despite the injury, Wilson is expected to join the band on stage at the upcoming Rocklahoma Festival next weekend. He also shared video posts from the hospital, revealing the extent of his injuries and assuring fans that he will be back on tour.
Wilson’s partner, Kelly Osbourne, also provided updates from the hospital, expressing gratitude for the support received. Osbourne mentioned that Wilson had “set himself on fire and exploded everything,” but assured followers that she was on her way to pick him up from the hospital. Both Wilson and Osbourne shared footage showing his arms and hands wrapped in heavy bandages.
The accident was not related to a show, but occurred while Wilson was “out working on the farm.” He emphasized the importance of safety when dealing with fire, urging his followers to exercise caution. Representatives for Wilson and Osbourne have been contacted for further comment.
Slipknot is scheduled to perform at the Rocklahoma Festival in Pryor, Oklahoma, from August 30 to September 1.
