Jennifer Hudson Announces New Christmas Album and Third Season of Her Daytime Talk Show
Jennifer Hudson, the celebrated singer and actress, revealed that while it has been a decade since she released an album, she has not stopped singing. In an interview with CNN, Hudson shared her thoughts on the perception surrounding her music career. “Everyone is like, ‘Oh it’s been 10 years since you’ve had an album,’ and I’m like, I don’t feel that way because I sing in everything that I do,” she explained, highlighting her continuous involvement in music through soundtracks and other projects.
In exciting news for her fans, Hudson is set to release a Christmas album soon, a long-held aspiration of hers. “I feel like throughout my career, I’ve done everything that’s been asked of me to do and now it’s my turn to do what I want do,” she expressed. “That’s one of the main things I wanted to do. I’m a holiday fanatic. I love the holidays, and I just want to share, which is why it’s called ‘The Gift of Love.’”
The EGOT winner is also gearing up for the third season of her self-titled daytime talk show. Hudson aims to bring joy not only to her viewers but also to herself through her daily work. “What does that look like for me? You know, deciding when I wake up in the morning, what’s gonna make me smile a day? What can I do to make me happy? What can I do to have fun? What can I do for myself?” she said, emphasizing the importance of finding joy.
In July, Hudson captured attention with a viral video of her singing “Hallelujah” at the Chateau de Versailles. Reflecting on the moment, she mentioned that the inspiring acoustics and her emotional state compelled her to sing. “I never would’ve imagined the impact that it would have because after that I’m walking around Paris and everybody was like ‘Oh my God, when you sang ‘Hallelujah,’ your performance’ and I was like ‘What performance?’ I was just reacting to what was on my spirit in that moment. I really was,” she recalled.
Hudson’s journey began 20 years ago as a contestant on “American Idol,” and she feels a sense of destiny in her current role interviewing stars on her syndicated show. “Everything in my life is a full circle. Think about it,” Hudson said, reflecting on her path from contestant to celebrity interviewer. “I was on ‘American Idol’ as a contestant. Then next thing you know, I’m on ‘The Voice’ as a coach. I was a celebrity in the interview, now I’m a host interviewing celebrities. So it takes a minute to shift into that.”
Season 3 of “The Jennifer Hudson Show” is set to premiere on Monday, signaling an exciting new chapter for the multifaceted artist.
